Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What time will my child's session be at?  Your child's time slot will be at the same time each Sunday except on June 2. On that Sunday, because of Pastor Mueller's installation at St. John's, there will be an altered schedule.  The regular schedule and the special schedule for June 2 will be communicated to all participants in mid-May after registration has closed.  Our upper division teams can plan for midafternoon or later time slot.
  2. Can I stay and watch?  Most certainly.  We encourage parents to participate by volunteering on their child's registration form.  However, this is not required.  Anyone is welcome to be in the gym and watching from the sideline during the camp portion and/or games.  We most certainly ask that you remain from shouting instructions at your child at all times.  Allow the coaches to do what they do - coach.  Certainly, take the time after the event to encourage your child.
  3. Will boys and girls play separately?  There will be a boys' league and a girls' league.  The divisions will also be separated by grades with a couple grades playing together in one league.  Specific divisions will be decided after registration closes.
  4. What attire is expected?  Each athlete needs to change into a pair of gym shoes that are only worn indoors when they arrive at the gym.  Each athlete must wear the issued G-Squared jersey to each league date.  A water bottle is also recommended.  Please do not bring basketballs.
  5. Can we use the same jersey as in the previous year? Yes.  All participants must have a G-Squared, light blue and white, reversible jersey.  If you have yours from last year, there is an option to receive a $7 discount at the above payment screen.  This jersey will be used for one more year.
  6. What if my child needs to miss a league date?  If your athlete can't make it, that is just fine.  They are certainly welcomed to come to the next date.
  7. Is there ever cancelations? We certainly don't expect there to be.  If, however, for any reason, there needs to be a change, we will email the addresses given at registration.
  8. When do I pay the fee?  The fee is to be paid as soon as your online registration is complete. It must be paid using a debit or credit card at the following link - www.theg2glife.com/watertownpayment
  9. Is there a family discount on the registration fee? We do not want the fee to prohibit any child from participating.  With that being said, there are also costs associated with the program that need to be covered.  Please feel comfortable reaching out to Mr. Tim Mueller, principal at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran School and our league director, and letting him know you would like your child or children to participate but have financial concerns.  He loves serving families.  He can be reached at 608-567-9909 or tmueller@theg2glife.org
  10. Is there anything else for me to know? It is never too early for parents of athletes to begin educating themselves on concussions.  Valuable and insightful resources have been put together by the CDC.  They can be located at www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/index.html
